Servicing the likes of Steven Spielberg, Brittany Spears, Stevie Nicks, Jane Krakowski, and White Snake, Batia & Aleeza is a cute salon in Beverly Hills that welcomes all (sometimes even walk ins). In my communications, Batia & Aleeza was called a "homey" place... It sounded like a "home away from home" amongst the hardened chic of other Hollywood serving salons. I was pleased, upon entering, to note a distinctive lack of steel as furnishings (as is sometimes over used in other salons). But, with the complete lack of a waiting area (not even a couch), the presence of a cappuccino machine, and the smell of the Archipelago Botanicals candles from a wall sales unit- this "home away from home" looks to be what it is, an upscale salon- not home. Mind you, the dynamic in there was smooth. These people all seem to enjoy their work. And they all are nice people (no hair snobs, if you know what I mean).
Batia & Aleeza are 2 sisters who have been working together for over 35 years. They are the best of friends. Aleeza started cutting hair at only 13 years of age while living in Isreal.. By 1971, she had her first successful shop. At age 26, she braved a move to America. Where she worked first for a salon opened by someone else, then opened the first Batia & Aleeza on Santa Monica Blvd. with her sister. Later, the salon was moved to its current location.
It's a pretty salon, and, looking at the customers leaving, a group of talent lies within. The salon services men, women, and children. They work with all kinds of hair, but the in house specialty is curly hair (look at the pic of the owners at the bottom & you'll see why). You can get your hair cut, styled, dyed (with natural henna), highlighted, low lighted, or even treated with their special recipe Mediterranean Olive Oil Treatment. There are also manicure, pedicure, & massage service offered (see link below for prices & services). The makeup used for by their makeup artist is Il Makiage.
Parking in Beverly Hills on any day is no east feat. But, there is a free lot across the street from the salon. Use it. Enjoy your trip to Batia & Aleeza.

Beauty Buzz Review
Batia and Aleeza are sisters who have a salon in Beverly Hills, California and last year released three hair care products in their signature line. There's a shampoo, conditioner and sculpting gel. Originally, these products were only offered in their salon or online, but they will soon be more widely available and other products will be added to the line in the near future. All products contain natural botanical ingredients and marine proteins and are suitable for all hair types. The three products are $14.95 each and come in a 16 oz. black flip-top plastic bottle.Bio-Natural Shampoo
This has a light "planty" scent that is fresh, yet natural and clean. Not overpowering at all. It cleans my hair well, gets all the product out and still leaves it soft, shiny and manageable. It gives me just the right amount of volume too. I have a lot of foils in my hair, so many that's it's for all practical purposes totally blonde. So dry hair is a problem as well as keeping out the brass. This shampoo is really all I need; there's no need for me to condition my hair more than once a week at the most. It's also kept my color true and hasn't limped-out my natural curl. All in all a very nice shampoo and one I would definitely buy again. Effectiveness

 Bio-Protein Conditioner
A very nice conditioner with a light fragrance similar to the shampoo. It doesn't over condition my hair or make it too greasy. And it doesn't ruin my natural curl. It leaves my hair soft, but not too soft so that it's unmanagable. I've been using it once a week and that seems to be enough for my hair. Effectiveness

 Bio-Herbal Mineral Sculpting Gel
Even though I think gel is a misnomer since this is a liquid, it is the star product in the line, in my opinion. I love this product! I can get a piecy, defined look with just this one product. And the best part, it's not crispy-crunchy or gummy-gooey or slimey. I've used it to wear my hair curly, I just scrunch some in and let it air dry - beautiful defined curls. I've also used it to wear my hair straight and it works that way too. Blow dry or air dry it works either way. Holds my style all day and no frizz. I can refresh my curls or chunky my style up by adding a little to my hair after it's dry. This stuff is fantastic! And an added bonus, no strong smell either. I don't like strongly fragranced styling products that I can smell all day and that compete with my fragrance. This gel has a light coconut scent that disappates after it's applied. I think that I've found my holy grail of styling products. Effectiveness
